A full day, hands-on and open to everyone

Our trainings bring small groups of owners and their pets together to learn how to react quickly and with confidence in an emergency — because when it matters, every minute counts.

What you'll learn

The moves that can make the difference

Six hands-on skills you'll practise step by step, so you can act calmly and confidently when your dog or cat needs you most.

  • Hands performing chest compressions on a dog lying on its side
    01

    CPR / cardiac massage

Learn the exact hand placement, rhythm and rescue breaths to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a dog or cat whose heart has stopped. It's the single most time-critical skill in canine and feline first aid — knowing it before an emergency happens can be the difference between life and death for your pet.

  • A dog choking on a ball stuck in its mouth
    02

    Choking

A ball, a bone or a toy stuck in the throat can block your pet's airway in seconds. We show you how to recognise the signs of choking and safely clear the obstruction using the animal Heimlich manoeuvre, without causing further injury.

  • A dog sniffing chocolate, grapes and pills, common toxic foods for dogs
    03

    Poisoning

Chocolate, grapes, certain plants and household chemicals are common causes of poisoning in dogs and cats. You'll learn to spot the early symptoms, what to do — and what never to do — before reaching a vet in Luxembourg, when every minute counts.

  • A dog with its front leg immobilised with a splint and bandage
    04

    Fractures

A fall, a road accident or a rough play session can cause a fracture. We teach you how to immobilise a broken limb, handle an injured pet safely and minimise pain and further damage on the way to emergency care.

  • A dog's paw with a bandage, a bandage roll and a drop of blood
    05

    Bleeding

Whether it's a deep cut, a torn nail or an internal injury, uncontrolled bleeding can quickly become life-threatening. Learn pressure-point techniques and how to apply a proper bandage to stabilise your pet until you reach a vet.

  • A panting dog under a hot sun next to a water bowl
    06

    Heat stroke

Luxembourg summers and closed cars are a dangerous combination for pets. We cover how to recognise the early signs of heat stroke, the correct cooling technique, and why some commonly used methods can actually make things worse.
